Job Description In this role, you’ll work under direct supervision to inspect, maintain, and correct cathodic protection systems that prevent corrosion on our pipelines. If you have experience in corrosion control or an electrical background, this is your chance to build a rewarding career in the energy industry with hands-on work and plenty of learning opportunities.
** What You'll Do:
*** Perform tests on existing pipelines and surrounding soils to determine the rate of corrosion and type of protection needed.
* Conduct regular surveys, tests, and inspections to ensure compliance with cathodic protection systems and standards.
* Perform cathodic repairs and maintenance.
* Maintain appropriate documentation and report on findings and actions.
* Adhere to company internal control procedures and financial processes.
* Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.

* What You Bring:

*** Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of the General Educational Development Test required, supplemented with college courses or vocational training in Electrical Engineering preferred.
* NACE Certification, preferred.
* Minimum two (2) years of electrical and/or gas distribution experience.
** Skill Requirement(s):
*** Good analytical and organizational skills.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the Company.  Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary.

*** Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers and management.
* Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers, customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.

** Work Environment:
** Work is performed primarily in a field setting and requires the use of personal protective equipment.  Duties involve driving, sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, digging, standing for extended periods of time, operating heavy equipment, fine finger movement and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.  Frequent travel to various worksites is also required, depending on assignment.  

Job sites may include interior and exterior work locations that involve hazardous environments requiring personal protective equipment and some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust and noise.  Occasional work is required in confined spaces, on ladders and in adverse weather conditions.
