REGISTERED NURSE - CARDIOVASCULAR INTENSIVE CARE UNIT - 36 HOURS - NIGHT SHIFT

GENERAL

Up to $10,000

Schedule:

Nights, Three 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Rotating every other weekend and holiday

Unit

Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a 10 bed unit specializing in the cardiac care of critically ill, medical based patients. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:1-2 based on the acuity of the patient population. We specialize in open heart and ECMO cases. We welcome nurses with at least one year of prior ICU experience, or two or more years of prior Cardiac Stepdown experience based on the nature of our work.

We encourage continuing education and voluntary participation in our various committees from the Structure Unit Practice Council to Professional Nurse Councils. We look forward to meeting you!

  • Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications - External

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
  • 1 or more years of ICU experience, or 2 or more years of cardiac telemetry experience preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES

REQUIRED:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
