Fabricate, repair, or plumb fixtures with various machining equipment and hand tools.
Essential Functions- Fabricating and upgrading checking fixtures, jigs, gauges, hand applies and pneumatic fixtures.
- Working with aluminum, steel, graphite, invar, stainless steel etc.
- Interpretation of blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
- Review engineering information, tool design drawings and other requirements to determine methods and sequence of operations to fabricate tools.
- Use of hand tools, power tools, machines, and various shop equipment.
- Hand plumbing or pipe fitting of tools.
- Review prints and order parts for tools.
- Assist maintaining shop air supply and all air and hydraulic components including air and hydraulic lines and fittings.
- Work with Design and Build Leads to come up with best tooling solutions for design and maintenance of tooling.
- Vacuum & Helium testing.
- Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- 5 years’ experience with building fixtures.
- This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required. For further details as to how a ‘U.S. Person’ is determined, please see SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS below!
- Aerospace / Aviation experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge of GD&T.
- Able to Bend Copper / Stainless Tubing.
- Ability to set and locate detailed features on a tool.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail.
- Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance:
Though not required of this role, individuals that have current, previous, or are willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain during the duration of employment are preferred.

Travel RequirementsMay be required to travel to other site locations during the workday and would primarily be local during the business day. However, some projects may require overnight stays as well as out-of-the-area travel paid for by the business.

- The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday.
- May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands.
- Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
- Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area.
