SUMMARYThe Citizen and Community Experience Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering Citizen celebrations, community events, travel groups, and meetings from concept through execution that represent the GLT “Way of Life”. This role manages multiple concurrent projects and attends assigned events to provide on-site oversight, developing detailed plans, timelines, budgets, and success metrics to ensure activities are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
The position serves as a primary point of contact for internal departments, community partners, vendors, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and shared ownership of event outcomes. The Citizen and Community Experience Project Manager oversees all logistical and operational aspects of events, ensures compliance with applicable policies and regulations, manages risk, and responds to on-site needs.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Project Management, Marketing, or a business related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience planning, managing, and delivering complex events or projects from concept through execution
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, timelines, and budgets while consistently meeting deadlines and organizational objectives
- Strong project management skills, including scope definition, scheduling, risk mitigation, and post-event evaluation
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate needs and resolve issues in real time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience coordinating event or project communications and post-event or project reporting
- Demonstrated knowledge of Native American culture or a willingness to learn
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher
Event Planning & Project Management
- Plan, coordinate, and manage Citizen celebrations, events, travel groups, and meetings from concept through execution.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, work plans, and task assignments for multiple concurrent events.
- Establish event scopes, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure events are delivered on time and within scope.
Budget & Resource Management
- Assist with the development and tracking of the Citizen and Community Experience department budget. Independently manage event budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring fiscal accountability.
- Coordinate procurement, contracts, and vendor payments in accordance with tribal policies.
- Identify pertinent funding streams and develop grant applications, including proposals and budgets, in collaboration with Tribal departments.
- Manage grant projects by completing and submitting grant reports, filing grant documents, monitoring spending, submitting change requests, and completing other required grant compliance activities in alignment with Tribal and federal requirements.
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
- Establish relationships with Citizens, co-workers, event attendees, presenters, and vendors.
- Provide guidance and support in addressing questions or inquiries from Citizens
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments, community partners, vendors, and external stakeholders.
