Position: Senior P&O Business Partner, Air & Sea US

Summary

At DSV Air & Sea, the Senior P&O Business Partner serves as both a strategic and hands‑on partner to operations leadership, supporting a fast‑paced operational environment. This role manages the full employee life cycle – from onboarding to offboarding – to ensure a seamless and positive employment experience. The Senior P&O Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor and resource to both employees and managers, supporting employee relations, engagement, retention, talent and performance management, compliance, and talent acquisition.

The position promotes a high‑performance culture and fosters a positive, respectful workplace while providing practical guidance to leaders and a visible, approachable resource for employees.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a seamless employment experience at each stage.
  • Lead talent assessment and development initiatives, identify high‑potential employees, and work with managers on succession planning and career paths.
  • Provide support and training to managers on best practices for performance management, feedback discussions and addressing performance issues constructively.
  • Lead initiatives to foster a positive employee experience and improve engagement, retention, and workplace satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, conduct investigations as needed and advise managers on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions and employee concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding efforts in partnership with Talent Acquisition for hourly, professional and leadership roles.
  • Participate in cross‑functional P&O projects, contributing expertise to enhance project outcomes and align initiatives with business goals.
  • Leverage P&O tools and resources to coach managers on performance, development, conflict resolution and team dynamics.
  • Design, implement and administer employee programs and initiatives that align with company goals, including Equal Employment Opportunity, affirmative action, compensation, recognition, and training programs.
  • Engage in project planning, execution, evaluation and drive innovative ideas to support P&O best practices.
  • Act as a proactive strategic advisor, collaborating with business leaders on key P&O initiatives such as wellness programs, merit reviews, talent and succession planning, and open enrollment.
  • Collaborate with other P&O functions to improve processes, resolve data issues and support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Maintain accurate and timely employee data in the HRIS system (SAP Success Factors), ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated HR Partner experience required; 7+ years preferred. Experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding or Supply Chain industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience handling complex employee relations issues, investigations, conflict resolution and corrective action.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi‑state operations.
  • PHR, SHRM‑CP, SPHR or SHRM‑SCP certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems (e.g., Success Factors, ADP).

  • Solid working knowledge of Human Resources principles with strong skills in management, problem‑solving, conflict resolution, consulting, decision‑making, financial and data analysis.
