Overview
Position Summary:
This role requires an experienced financial analyst to support a wide variety of projects, including evaluating potential revenue and investment opportunities, supporting regulatory proceedings, gaining a strong understanding of the Company’s financial systems to aid in system support and development, and other projects. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, organized, an expert communicator, and able to perform tasks independently with minimal direction.
- Maintain and modify models used in analyzing revenue and investment opportunities, and present and support the model to various levels of management throughout the organization.
- Prepare exhibits and testimony to support the Company in rate proceedings with the public service commission, with the ability to defend those schedules during the proceedings.
- Analyze financial results and the impacts to the organization from a financial regulatory perspective.
- Research and analyze information and communicate findings to management both verbally and in writing.
- Learn and understand the Company’s financial systems, including an appreciation of system design to assist in problem resolution and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage projects, develop project plans, and monitor performance.
- Maintain written policies and procedures, improve workflow, systems and processes, and adapt processes to changing requirements.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field required; CPA or Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in progressively advancing accounting or financial analysis roles.
- Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems, including evaluating multiple scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to proficiently access and manipulate data for creating financial analyses and other formal presentations.
- Ability to evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects and to remain flexible and focused on the objective while handling multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
- Flexibility to work extended workdays and/or weekends as required to meet deadlines established by senior management and/or regulatory agencies.
- Proven ability to use Microsoft Office suite applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
We offer a competitive salary range of $83,200 to $122,550 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
