Writes and edits technical contentto set standardsregardingorder, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Determines the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.
Manage updates and revisions to technical content.
Meets with engineers and project managers to learn about specific products or processes.
Researchproductprototypesto fully understand product.
Assesses theaudienceneeds for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
Plans writing processes and sets timelines and deadlines.
Gathers feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers to improve technical documents.
Use engineering bill of materials for the creation of parts manuals.
Collaborates with internal teams to track production schedule updates.
Advocates for customers with a focus on safety, communicating safety messages in manuals and decals.
Review published materials andrecommendrevisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
Ensure publication deadlines are met for launch of new machines.
Fulfill manual orders for the Aftermarket Department.
Manages translation projects.
Maintains archive of manuals.
Maintains library of manuals for Dealers (D-Net), to include creation and maintenance of meta-data for search functions.
Maintains archive of machine log records for D-Net.
