SEMCO - Sr. Business Process Analyst
SEMCO Energy is seeking a Senior Business Process Analyst to document, analyze, and improve core customer and billing processes. This role is ideal for a curious, analytical self‑starter who enjoys understanding how work gets done and turning complexity into clear, scalable processes.
What You’ll Do- Document and improve business processes across billing, meter reading, payments, call center, and customer operations
- Identify gaps and design improved workflows that support efficiency and customer experience
- Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to understand processes and recommend improvements
- Use customer and billing data from CIS systems to support analysis and decision‑making
- Maintain clear, up‑to‑date process documentation to support continuity and compliance
- Collaborate with SEMCO Energy and Washington Gas teams to identify shared opportunities
- 5+ years of experience in business process analysis, operations, billing, or customer systems
- Experience with enterprise financial or billing systems (SAP IS‑Utilities, MV90, or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Lean Six Sigma and/or CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent business analysis certification
- Ability to travel to our Springfield, VA office (approx. once per 2‑3 months)
- Make a meaningful impact on processes that directly affect customers
- Gain exposure across multiple teams and two utilities
- Work in a collaborative environment that values curiosity and initiative
We offer a competitive salary range of $83,200 to $120,550 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
