THE CITY OF PORT HURON IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
PART-TIME RECREATION CLERK
- Greet the public in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer inquiries from the general public in person and on the phone in regards to the Recreation Department and programs/activities.
- Provide excellent customer service to each patron and interact with the public tactfully and courteously.
- Assist the Recreation Staff by:
- Delivering and retrieving mail from the Municipal Office Center.
- Opening and sorting mail, as well as, distributing mail to the appropriate departments.
- Maintaining records and files to ensure that they are up-to-date and accessible.
- Record meeting notes.
- Organize monthly calendars.
- Monitor office inventory and order necessary supplies.
- Create documents and maintain databases.
- Process invoices, billings and payments.
- Assist with office management and organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Computer knowledge preferred including, Word, Excel and the internet.
- Ability to utilize and/or operate a variety of office equipment, including phone and voicemail, copier, scanner, and laminator.
- Ability to work independently to solve problems.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain mental alertness, integrity, patience and dependability.
- High school diploma, preferred.
- Current, valid Michigan Operator’s Driver License required.
Working Hours:
- Approximately 24 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Salary Range:
- $ 16.00 - $ 18.00 per hour
- Does not include a benefit package.
