Position: 2601 Associate Technical Applications Specialist (TA20)

Overview

Role and responsibilities:

Full Time Associate Technical Applications Specialist position providing logistics support with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMS MS). DMS support includes supporting weapon and combat system configurations for both US and FMS Navy ships.

Responsibilities
  • Provide logistics support with DMS MS for weapon and combat system configurations on US and FMS Navy ships.
  • Coordinate and interface with NSWC PHD, other government activities, and contractor offices for meetings, program schedules, milestones, and product deliveries.
  • Review and track logistics products, compile and input data in databases, systems, and applications.
  • Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to identify provisioning and DMSMS/parts obsolescence impacts.
  • Define system supportability requirements and evaluate program documentation for logistics impacts.
  • Coordinate logistic tasks and participate in various working groups and integrated product teams dedicated to the development of specific logistics products.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree and 1–3 years of applicable experience, or no degree and 5 years of applicable experience.
  • Ability to provide inputs/support to DMSMS/parts obsolescence case management.
  • Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Provide DMSMS/parts obsolescence Health Chart support.
  • Research parts obsolescence and recommend solutions.
  • Monitor DMSMS/parts obsolescence cases via SMART DB, Vendor Alerts, and other methods.
  • Perform Market/Vendor Survey for unknown parts.
  • Review and track logistics products to include data input in various databases, systems, and applications.
  • Verify that National Stock Numbers are authorized for procurement and consistent with APL/AEL data and the Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB).
  • Microsoft Office skills (word processing, spreadsheets, data entry).
  • Ability to receive and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and complete tasks with limited guidance.
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
  • English language proficiency: write, speak and understand English and produce clear, detailed reports.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous NAVSEA Logistics experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to travel if/when required.
