Senior Engineering Technician - Position Description

We are headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA. We are seeking a Port Hueneme, CA based Senior Engineering Technician to support our Navy customer in Port Hueneme, CA.

Security Clearance
Applicants must be eligible to hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance.

General Tasking

Description:

• Support equipment level alterations made to equipment onboard a Navy vessel, test site, or within a system, such as upgrading existing equipment or systems, adjusting configurations, retrofitting components, or integrating new technologies. These alterations may involve various elements, such as machinery, electronics, instrumentation, etc.
• Provide support and guidance to address issues, challenges, or questions related to a particular system, equipment, or process.
• Conduct testing, risk analyses, design recommendations and coordinate with certifying organizations.
• Install, monitor, upgrade, maintain and perform system administration for support systems, tactical and training.
• Provide support, maintenance, and a range of engineering, industrial, and technical services for combat system equipment.
• Support post modernization installation, checkout and closeout processes during stages 3-7 for technical refresh, upgrades to training systems software, installation of modifications to shipboard command and control combat systems and subsystems, managing ORDALTS and handling field changes.
• Provide harvesting, staging and shipping services for components and associated parts removed during Alteration installations, upgrades, maintenance windows of opportunity, or decommissioning.
• Review, update, and provide feedback on new construction and modernization-related documents, Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), installation plans, and installation requirements Manuals. This includes providing comments, recommendations, and assessments on material, support, and manpower requirements to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in the modernization process.

• 5-10 years of providing Combat Systems / Engineering support to a US Navy program or ship.

• A Technical degree in any Engineering discipline.
