Base pay range: $49.87/hr
Description
Aircraft Mechanic I performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on specified T/M/S aircraft airframes, ordnance, egress/life support systems, power plants, corrosion control and painting, and related systems. Responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures, ordnance and engine components; performing flight‑line essential services; interpreting technical data such as blueprints and manufacturer manuals; and applying specialized tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on specified T/M/S aircraft systems.
- Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures, ordnance systems, egress systems, and engine components.
- Execute flight‑line essential services according to the daily flight schedule.
- Perform routine lifting (exceeding OSHA standards) and ordnance loading with team‑lifts up to 167 pounds.
- Interpret technical data (blueprints, manufacturer manuals) to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Provide technical support to project engineers and customers.
- Assist or lead teams on complex aircraft tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completed the appropriate T/M/S aircraft specific Navy Skill Specialty Class ’A’ school, or USMC/USCG equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of USN/USMC/USCG O‑Level maintenance experience in specified T/M/S aircraft.
- Three years T/M/S experience within the last seven years.
- Current state driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet delivery schedules.
