IZI South Africa is seeking to fill a vacancy at its Port Elizabeth branch for the position of Crew Member.
Main Purpose of the Role
This role is responsible for the collection and delivery of client consignments, as well as the loading of trucks destined for clients. It involves verifying all necessary equipment and completing paperwork using electronic scanning devices. The successful candidate will ensure consignments are accurately received from the Vault, correctly segregated, and securely stowed onboard in compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and directives.

Delivery of Valuables to Customers
Adhere to all relevant procedures and ensure the correct security devices are utilised to guarantee the safe transport of consignments at all times.
Conduct all deliveries with professionalism, reflecting the values of G4S.
Accurately complete scanning and documentation for record-keeping and audit purposes.
Maintain the safety and security of customer assets as their responsible custodian.
Ensure all deposit slips issued by the bank are delivered promptly to customers.
Delivery of Consignments to Vault (Branch-Based)
Complete all handover documentation accurately, utilising electronic devices to scan consignments.
Deliver consignments according to the planned schedule, consistently meeting service level agreements.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the crew compartment and Vault at all times.
Scanning the Environment for Potential Threats (Suspicious Vehicles and Persons)
Remain vigilant at all times and promptly report any suspicious vehicles or activities to the Control Room.
Identify optimal tactical positions to provide cover for oneself and others, ensuring clear lines of sight and safe exit from the vehicle upon the driver’s instruction.
Assess and select the safest tactical route from the vehicle to the client collection or delivery point before disembarking, following the driver’s instructions.
Enter and exit the vehicle using tactical procedures to maintain security.
Conduct ongoing surveillance en route to detect any potential threats.
Health & Safety
Promote a culture of “Safety First” in all aspects of the role.
Comply fully with company Health and Safety procedures, extending beyond vehicle safety.
Avoid exposing oneself, vehicles, assets, or colleagues to any risks.
Ensure no members of the public or customers are placed at risk.
Participate actively in safety forums at branch level.
Report all safety incidents promptly to the Control Room and attend safety training and refresher programmes as required.
Wear protective clothing (including bulletproof vests) at all times when performing duties, including within secure environments.
Comply with all reasonable instructions and duties issued by branch management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience
Competencies
Grade 12 or equivalent
Valid South African
Valid PSIRA Certification – Grade C
Cash In Transit (CIT) Certification
Valid Firearm Competency Certificate for Business Purposes
Valid South African Driver’s Licence is advantageous
Clear credit and criminal record
Minimum of one year’s experience in Cash In Transit operations
Ability to perform under pressure and manage time effectively
