Job Title: Junior Alarm & CCTV Technician

Location: Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Junior Alarm & CCTV Technician to support our technical team in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of residential and small commercial security systems. The successful candidate will assist with alarm and CCTV installations, basic fault-finding, and general technical support while developing hands‑on experience in the security industry.

This role is ideal for a technically inclined individual who is eager to learn, hardworking, and committed to delivering quality service.

• Assist senior technicians with alarm and CCTV installations and upgrades.
• Install, service, and maintain alarm panels, sensors, cameras, and related equipment.
• Support fault‑finding and troubleshooting of security systems.
• Assist with mounting equipment, running cables, and securing panels using power tools.
• Install security signage and ensure correct placement of warning boards.

• Prepare and connect wiring to terminals and devices.
• Install and secure conduit and trunking where required.
• Assist in tracing faults and testing systems using basic tools and multimeters.
• Measure, cut, and route cables neatly and safely.
• Support soldering and basic electrical connections under supervision.

• Assist with minor trenching and drilling for cabling and equipment installation.
• Ensure installations are neat, professional, and cause minimal disruption.
• Maintain cleanliness on‑site and ensure client premises are left tidy.
• Clear obstructions around CCTV equipment when necessary.

• Care for company tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Load, transport, and unload tools and materials to work sites.
• Ensure issued stock is accounted for and returned after job completion.
• Report damaged or missing equipment to management.

• Valid PSIRA Certificate (Grade E or higher – Required).
• Minimum 6–12 months experience in alarm and/or CCTV installations (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of alarm panels, cameras, and security systems.
• Willingness to perform hands‑on technical and support duties.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Good communication skills and professional customer manner.
• Valid driver’s licence (Advantage).
• Must be physically fit and willing to work flexible hours when needed.
