Area Manager​/Supervisor, Gqeberha

Overview

We are seeking an Area Manager / Supervisor for a permanent role in the security industry, based in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• PSIRA Grade A (valid and up to date)
• Matric / Grade 12 (minimum)
• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in the security industry
• At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role
• Strong knowledge of security operations, risk management, and compliance
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
• Clear criminal record
• Computer literate (MS Office, reporting systems)
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple sites

Advantageous / Preferred

• Diploma or qualification in Security Management / Risk Management
• Knowledge of labour relations and disciplinary procedures
• Firearm competency and knowledge of the Firearms Control Act
• Experience managing large teams and high-profile clients
• Strong communication skills in English and local languages
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and client-facing ability
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong planning, organising, and reporting ability

• Manage and oversee security operations across multiple sites/contracts
• Supervise Site Managers and ensure operational standards are met
• Ensure full compliance with PSIRA, company policies, and client requirements
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Handle client liaison, service delivery meetings, and escalations
• Manage staff performance, discipline, training, and development
• Oversee incident investigations and ensure accurate reporting
• Manage operational costs, overtime, and productivity within budget
• Ensure effective deployment, rosters, and relief planning
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service
