IntroductionWe are looking to recruit a permanent Operations Manager to work within the Operations department of United Pharmaceutical Distributors. The role will be based at UPD Port Elizabeth branch and will report to the Branch Manager (PE).
Job Purpose:
- To effectively and efficiently manage the branch operations to maximize return on net assets and deliver key branch objectives in line with the overall business objectives.
Job Objectives:
- Manage the day to day wholesale and distribution operations of the branch including inter alia operations, people, contractors and processes.
- Ensure branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service and growth goals.
- Co-ordinate with the branch Sales & Marketing teams to maximize turnover of the branch through service excellence (operational effectiveness and delivery)
- Manage operational activities relevant to Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ensure compliance to system requirements, generating reports to measure performance and efficiency, review reports to ensure that stock availability and order processing are not negatively affected.
- Optimize stock levels, availability and management through operational excellence (receiving performance and stock expiry management).
- Direct operations, co-coordinate branch operations teams to deliver operational efficiency and service levels to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.
- Cost management including budgetary alignment and capital expenditure (CAPEX)
- Responsible for ensuring security of facility and implement loss control is in line with company guidelines and policies
- Managing pharmaceutical compliance as per regulations and implement instructions/guidelines from Responsible Pharmacist (RP)
- Effectively manage and develop human resources
Qualification
Required:
- A relevant business degree or equivalent

- 3 years management experience within high volume Warehouse/Operations/Sales or Retail environment
