We are looking for a dynamic and organized Seasonal Garden Centre Trainer to support several store locations within a one hour travel circuit daily to support merchandising and staff training.

During our peak season from mid April to end of May.

This role is crucial in ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, effective staff training, product maintenance, and overall visual excellence at each location.

Garden Centre Trainers work a 5 day schedule including 1 weekend day with the ability to work overtime if required.

Prior Garden Centre Management and Training Experience is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Support:

    • Assist in overseeing daily activities, ensuring the garden centre is well‑maintained, set to planogram and visually appealing.
    • Contribute to inventory, receiving, stocking, rotating and merchandising of products.
  • Customer Service:

    • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering inquiries, and offering advice on plant availability & assortment.
    • Collaborate with the team to create a welcoming and informative shopping environment.
  • Staff Training:

    • Build out daily plans to identify staff tasks & identifying training needs, and supervising seasonal staff.
    • Coordinate and execute follow‑up training to ensure any gaps or needs are met from team members not meeting standards.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments and provide feedback & reporting to store management team and staff member.
Sales and Strategy
  • Contribute to the planogram execution for promotions and featured items.
  • Assist in monitoring and garden centre needs based on target quantities to meet store budget goals.
  • Quality Control:

    • Work with the team to ensure the quality and health of plant inventory.
    • Assist in managing, tracking and disposing of compromised product.
  • Administrative Duties:

    • Stay up to date on all administrative tasks, store procedures and other 城 process documentation as assigned.
Qualifications (Only qualified applicants  be contacted)
  • Previous experience in a garden center, retail, or related field - 4 yrs minimum.
  • Knowledge of plants, gardening, landscaping practices.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays during peak seasons.
  • Able to work a flexible 5 day schedule to support in-store demands.
  • Capable of working in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment that involves pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs and bending on a daily basis.
  • Able to navigate various forms of technology from spreadsheets to apps to reporting tools in a mobile office environment.
