Vitacore is seeking a Machinist apprentice to join our Manufacturing & Engineering teams and train under our long-time Senior Machinist. This role is designed for someone who is hungry to learn, mechanically curious, and excited by hands-on problem solving. The successful apprentice will gain exposure to a huge variety of tasks – custom part fabrication, equipment repair, prototyping, installations, and one-off builds.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their machinist career who wants real breadth, real mentorship, and the chance to eventually take over the full machinist function.

Compensation:

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma required
  • Completion of a pre-apprenticeship machinist program (1-year) OR currently a 1 st or 2 nd year machining apprentice
  • Strong interest in mechanical systems and fabrication
  • Ability to run or willingness to learn:
  • Manual lathe
  • Surface grinder
  • General shop and precision hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawing
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Curious, resourceful mindset – comfortable creating parts that don’t exist yet and solving novel engineering problems
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work with people across many departments
  • Strong communication skills; asks questions early and seeks clarity when needed
  • Bonus Consideration
    :
    Millwright/Industrial Mechanic apprentices with manual machining experience
  • Not a Fit: CNC-only machinists
Job Responsibilities
  • Design and manufacture custom parts for production, engineering, and R&D needs
  • Support equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting across multiple departments
  • Work closely with our Senior Machinist to learn tooling setup, machining processes, safe operation, and workflow planning
  • Help translate engineering concepts into practical components and prototypes
  • Uses lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and hand tools to build or modify parts
  • Assist with installations, fabrication projects, and ad hoc builds
  • Participate in continuous learning, applying theoretical training to hands-on work
  • Provide support wherever needed in a dynamic manufacturing environment, gaining exposure to many technical areas
