CNC Machinist, Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary
Apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications using advanced machinery. Join our growing team as a CNC Press Operator, where your skills will directly support expanding production needs. We’re seeking someone with strong brake press experience and confidence handling a wide variety of parts and bends. Staying organized, motivated, and focused will be key to success in this role.

Hiring for 3rd shift (Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm–1:30 am).
Key Accountabilities:
- Program, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC brake press operations, preferably on TRUMPF equipment.
- Execute complex, multi‑bend forming sequences for tight‑tolerance sheet metal and copper bus bar parts.
- Select, configure, and precisely align tooling, verifying bend allowances and compatibility before production.
- Produce and validate first‑article components to meet engineering drawings and GD&T specifications & support prototype builds with expert guidance.
- Document program changes, tooling adjustments, and process updates to ensure full production traceability.
- Perform thorough in‑process and final inspections using precision measurement tools and document quality control reports, and part verification logs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
- Maintain brake press tooling—cleaning, inspecting, sharpening—and assist with routine machine upkeep.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams while supporting adjacent fabrication operations as needed.
- 5+ years of senior‑level experience operating and programming CNC brake presses (controls and software) in a metal fabrication environment.
- Advanced capability in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, drawing tolerance and critical dimensions.
- Proven experience producing first‑article and prototype components.
- Strong understanding of forming technology, bend allowances, spring back, tooling selection, and material characteristics.
- Excellent problem‑solving ability in a fast‑paced, high‑mix production environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comply with PPE and safety requirements.
- Experience with multiple brake press brands and control systems. TRUMPF Boost experience highly preferred.
- Exposure to continuous improvement programs (Lean, 6S, Kaizen).
- Experience supporting new product introductions or custom prototype cycles.
$23.74 – $33.09 per hour.
