Position Overview
As a Material Manager, you provide leadership and management for large heavy construction projects. This position manages staff and craft employees and interacts with senior site management, equipment vendors, subcontractors and service providers. You must must possess experience in both purchasing and material control, and must be able to travel and relocate for long-term and short-term field assignments. This position is operational in nature dealing significantly with field issues at active projects.

District Overview
Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining. Our key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client’s specifications and expectations.
Location
This position may be based in either our Project Laydown/Materials Yard in North Vancouver, BC or at the Project Site Office located in Squamish or Coquitlam BC. Must be comfortable working directly at the job-site location on a rotation schedule if required. #LI-RP1
Responsibilities
Freight Coordination: Oversee all freight hauling activities, including barge transport and truck deliveries, and intermodal transfers.
Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain detailed logistics schedules aligned with construction milestones and material availability.
Vendor Management: Liaise with barge operators, freight carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure compliance with safety, timing, and cost requirements.
