Rate of Pay: $27.56/hr

As a Cook, your typical day will impact in the following ways:

• Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation
• Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes and other menu documents as provided
• Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities
• Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advising the team leader of problems and making recommendations about corrective action
• In the absence of the team leader, assuming responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases of food and other supplies from authorized suppliers
• Assisting in the orientation and training of new team members
• Performing other duties as assigned

• Grade 12 minimum education required
• Must have the Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment
• Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings
• Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province

• Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify
