The FDVA Nursing State Veterans' Nursing Homes are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program.
From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.
Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant's lender.
Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds.
Education and employment history must be verifiable. Please attach any credentials you claim (degrees, certifications, etc.) to your application.
Multiple positions; varied shifts; and OPS (Temporary) candidates will be selected from this pool. Other vacant positions/shifts, including OPS (temporary) positions/shifts may be filled with from this advertisement within six (6) months of the closing date.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
- Must possess a current AHA BLS CPR certification.
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Records.
- Experience working with Matrix Care.
- Experience in a long-term care facility (nursing home; skilled nursing; or assisted living facility).
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with medication administration.
- The incumbent is responsible for providing quality professional care to veteran residents to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Provide initial and ongoing assessment of the resident population. Perform assigned duties to include but not limited to administration of medications and treatments per MD order, monitoring and providing interventions to meet the needs of the resident, completing accurate clinical documentation reflective of resident's status and providing supervision and guidance to the Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (SLPN), Senior Certified Nursing Assistant (SCNA) and other Allied Health Care Professionals.
Works under the direct supervision of the Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor. - Administer medications and perform treatments to assigned patients. Complete documentation of needs and treatment as required by local, state, and federal requirements. Assist team members in giving care to patients. Administer direct care when professional nursing skills and judgment are needed. Assess and document the patient's condition and nursing needs. Set goals and prescribe appropriate nursing interventions to meet the physical, psychological, social rehabilitative and discharge planning.
