Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician, Electrician/ Electrician Installation
This position is responsible forthe following:

Perform electrical repairandmaintenancesuch as assemble,install,test, ormaintainelectrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures for ships, barges,equipment and facilities.
May repair and install telephone systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, systems, and equipment.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools tolocatethe cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Advise supervision and/or Safety Department on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
May berequiredto install conduits, run wire, and terminating.
Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
Maytrain workers to install,maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtureswhenappropriate.
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints todeterminethe location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Able tooperateshipboardswitchgear.
Mayassistduring emergencies by operating floodlights or generators, placing flares, or driving needed vehicles.
Required Education & Experience- Experience/knowledge of electrical circuitry.
- Industrial and/or marine Electrical experience preferred.
- 1stClass: 3-5 years
- 2ndClass: 1-3 years
- Maintain current electrician's licensetomeet governmental regulations (if applicable).
- Some climbing (100 feet) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved.
- Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights while wearing fall prevention equipment.
- Working with hot and sometimes hazardous materials.
- Aboard ships, both on and offshore as well as confined spaces.
- Must be able to stand andoperateequipment forup to four continuous hours.
- The work requires long periodsof sitting in awkward positions, standing on a variety of surfaces and at differing angles, bending over,crouching,and climbing up and over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge and boat structural members.
- Operation of volt/ohm meter, amp meter, megger, and voltage recorder.
- Various hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches,drawings,and technical manuals(i.e.:electrical schematics.).
- Perform basic mathematical functions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High performance anda strong team player.
- Capability to coordinate work with supervisors, andotherforeman.
- Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.
