Chemical Engineer
Job Description
Process Safety Advisor
Port Arthur | 11-month contract
This role is for someone who truly lives and breathes process safety — not just on paper, but out in the field, in conversations, and in how teams show up every day. You’ll be a visible champion of process safety excellence, helping embed a strong, practical safety culture through hands-on engagement, smart risk analysis, and leadership coaching that actually sticks.
You’ll work closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to identify risk early, lead meaningful safety conversations, and ensure process safety isn’t just compliant — it’s understood. Some days that means facilitating a HAZOP or structured risk assessment. Other days it’s developing training, coaching leaders, or translating complex technical risk into clear, actionable guidance.
This is a role for a confident communicator with deep technical credibility who can connect the dots between procedures, people, and real-world operations.
You should bring
An engineering degree (Chemical, Process, Mechanical, or Process Safety — or equivalent experience)
5+ years of hands-on experience in a process safety role
Solid knowledge of petrochemical operations and applicable regulatory requirements
Comfort leading or participating in risk assessments, HAZOPs, and process safety studies
The ability to design and deliver training that resonates with both field and leadership teams
Nice to have
Experience with consequence modeling tools such as Phast
If you’re someone who can walk a unit, read a process, and have a safety conversation that people actually remember — this is a strong opportunity to make real impact over the next year.
