Senior Accountant - Construction Industry

Port Arthur | Full-Time

A growing construction company in Port Arthur is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to oversee core accounting operations and support financial reporting. This role will manage payroll, accounts payable, billing oversight, reconciliations, and assist with month-end close. The position also serves as the liaison between accounting and the company's outsourced IT provider to support system functionality and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Perform and review balance sheet and bank reconciliations

+ Support month-end and year-end close

+ Oversee payroll processing and related journal entries

+ Manage full-cycle accounts payable and monitor billing processes

+ Review AR aging and assist with collections

+ Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure GAAP compliance

+ Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls

+ Coordinate with third-party IT on accounting system support

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

+ 5+ years of accounting experience

+ Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience

+ Payroll experience preferred

+ Advanced Excel skills

+ CPA preferred, not required

+ Construction and job costing experience a strong plus
