Primary Function: Assists the teacher (general or special education) by performing duties related to students’ instructional objectives and/or as outlined in students’ education plans. Activities include reinforcing instruction under direction/supervision of the teacher or building administrator, assembling and preparing instructional materials, and assisting students with transitions during the day.
Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or higher, or high school diploma or equivalent with additional 90 semester credit hours from accredited institutions, or high school diploma with passing a rigorous test approved by the Virginia Department of Education to become highly qualified under the No Child Left Behind legislation.
Seniority Level: Entry level.
