Municipal Utilities Water-Sewer Superintendent
CLASSIFICATION:
Regular Full-time, Non-exempt
Performs a variety of tasks such as building maintenance, carpentry, trenching, painting, masonry tasks, etc. which often involves the use of acquired skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform a variety of semi-skilled routine and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, including minor repairs and upkeep.
- Assist mechanics, machine operators, meter readers and other tradesmen where special skills are not usually required.
- Assemble forms for concrete structures and work as a cement finisher.
- Maintain landscapes, plant grass and shrubs.
- Operate chainsaws, jackhammers and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Repair and sharpen small tools and equipment.
- Perform tasks related to digging out and repairing water, sewer and underground lines.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Driving skills adequate for handling a towing device.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Skills relating to performing semi-skilled maintenance and manual tasks.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
- Must register as a “user” in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse database.
- Pass drug screening and/or physical examination.
- Meet residency requirements (must live within 12 miles of the Highway 60/67 intersection)
