Southeast Missouri Residential services (SEMORS) is a State of Missouri facility supporting individuals in a residential setting. We are located at 112 Plaza Drive Sikeston, MO and 2351 Kanell Blvd. Poplar Bluff, MO. We are professional, agile and innovative.

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. A successful candidate has previous experience working with individuals supported by the Department of Mental Health, will have a strong work ethic and an active interest in ensuring the health and safety of others. This position is a critical component to achieving our mission, which is to improve the lives of Missourians with Developmental Disabilities through supports and services that foster self-determination.

The incumbent will review reports of events involving mistreatment, injury, or risk to those individuals supported at SEMORS, will conduct interviews with staff and consumers, and compile that information into a report for local review by the Superintendent and/or review by an external investigation's unit. This position will make recommendation to the Director of Quality Assurance on facility quality procedures, standards, and specifications.

Additional duties will include compliancy checks on current processes and staff training.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of accreditation and certification standards and their application to state or privately operated facilities. Ability to formulate quality improvement plans to improve efficiency.

Master’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)

The Quality Assurance Specialist Must Be
  • Detailed orientated
  • Work well within an inter-disciplinary team environment.
  • Have good time management, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all verbal and written communication related to position.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills that include a flexible approach to allow for effective communication with individuals of different backgrounds, education levels and communication methods.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer programs, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
