Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician I position is crucial in providing direct and supportive care to our valued clients. This role demands a basic understanding of treatment plans, health monitoring, and crisis intervention, all while fostering a safe and therapeutic environment for clients.
In this dynamic position, you will oversee daily activities, facilitate group education, and communicate effectively with the treatment team, ensuring a holistic approach to client care.
- Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients/patients.
- Ensure monitoring of vital signs and determine the need for medical intervention when critical symptoms arise.
- Obtain and document vital signs and relevant medical symptoms as indicated.
- Oversee medication administration per policy and procedure, maintaining accurate records regarding client medications.
- Monitor clients for signs of withdrawal, facilitating necessary assessments and interventions.
- Encourage adherence to program expectations in a trauma-informed manner, communicating behaviors to the treatment team as needed.
- Participate actively in the treatment team, documenting client behaviors and reporting concerns.
- Facilitate urine collection and testing while adhering to appropriate policies.
- Maintain a clean environment and ensure the safety of clients/patients during all activities.
- High School education OR equivalent with two (2) years of responsible employment.
- Experience in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle.
- Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with an acceptable driving record.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sometimes sit for extended periods.
- The employee must routinely use hands and fingers to write, type, operate a mouse, and handle documents.
- They must communicate effectively in-person and through phone inquiries and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
