Job Summary
Echo & Vascular Technologist at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center performs diagnostic ultrasound and vascular imaging procedures to evaluate the structure and function of the heart and vascular system. This role supports patient care across multiple departments, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results that aid in patient treatment planning.
Essential Functions- Perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound procedures, following protocols to ensure high‑quality diagnostic imaging.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring functionality for optimal use in patient assessments.
- Conduct preliminary evaluations and record findings, providing comprehensive data for physician interpretation.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers across departments, facilitating the coordination of patient care and timely delivery of diagnostic results.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, adhering to age‑specific care considerations and maintaining a respectful approach.
- Document procedures and findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring compliance with department standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in scheduling, preparing, and positioning patients for imaging, ensuring proper patient identification and verification of orders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- 0‑1 years of experience in echocardiography and/or vascular imaging required.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic understanding of echocardiography and vascular imaging techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to handle imaging equipment safely and accurately.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems and diagnostic imaging software.
- RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer required or
- RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist required
- BCLS – Basic Life Support required
