Assistant Manager

As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager you will be involved in all aspects of day‑to‑day operations, ensuring guests and staff experience passion and excellence, leading teams, solving problems, managing stress, and maintaining the highest service standards.

• Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit.
• Cultivates a culture in accordance with Flynn Applebee’s Premier Card of our core values and beliefs.
• Responds immediately and corrects all verbal guest complaints.
• Prioritises guest contact with required table visits established by Flynn Applebee’s standards.
• Maintains departmental inventory levels.
• Ensures product preparation and presentation meet company standards through line checks.
• Schedules employees to meet sales demands.
• Maintains effective safety and security programs.
• Promotes and leads restaurant organisation, cleanliness and sanitation.
• Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
• Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates.
• Promotes Flynn | Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
• Ensures staff training through employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and company policy and training systems.
• Participates in employee development using One‑on‑One and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations.
• Assesses employee efficiency, provides regular feedback, and works with them on development.
• Monitors employee performance, documenting situations that may lead to disciplinary or corrective action.
• Assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
• Controls cost in assigned department.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Conducts bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request and submits accurate daily paperwork.
• Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards.
• Provides a role model for managers and employees.
• Develops knowledge of all store‑related technology.
• Is willing and able to work in all positions and assist wherever needed, including cooking on the line, expo, seating guests and bartending.
• Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.

• At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
• Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.

• Work various shifts, including weekends.
• Stand and move with well‑paced mobility for up to ten (10) hours.
• Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds.
• Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
