We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Primary Care Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team.

As a valuable member of our healthcare staff, you will play a crucial role in assisting our licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional care to our homebound patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals recovering from injuries or illnesses.

PTA role performs visits in homes, ALF's, and ILF's. This is a salary‑based position, with the opportunity to receive a monthly bonus.

This is a full‑time, salary‑based position.

Schedule
  • Monday‑Friday (8:00 AM‑5:00 PM) and one weekend a month
  • Monday‑Sunday (7:00 AM‑7:00 PM) 7 days on, 7 days off

Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide rehabilitative services to patients suffering from physical injuries or disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation of treatment plans.
  • Conducting exercises with patients.
  • Educating patients on proper techniques for rehabilitation exercises.
  • Documenting patient progress.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Instructing and assisting patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities.
  • Monitoring patients during therapy sessions, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment and ensuring equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
  • Communicating regularly with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Assisting in the implementation of discharge plans, including providing patients with instructions for continued care and recommending appropriate follow‑up services.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of practice.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Compassion and empathy for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity necessary to assist patients with mobility and perform therapeutic activities.
  • Pelvic Health Experience and/or interest
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Specialized training or certification in specific areas of physical therapy, such as orthopedics, pelvic health, neurology, or geriatrics.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language commonly spoken by patients in the practice area.
