Water and Waste business unit (WAW) is a true end-to-end business as part of Wärtsilä Portfolio Businesses. WAW is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. WAW has the industry’s broadest product offering to secure beyond compliant operations for our marine customers.

We have now a unique and exciting opportunity as we approach divestment to become a standalone entity for two Logistics Coordinators for the Wartsila Water Systems Ltd business, based in UK, Poole, Dorset.

You will add value to our supply chain activity, being a strong communicator able to resolve problems and connect our internal stakeholders on both our New Build and Spares business streams.

As the Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for effective management of inbound and outbound logistics requirements, consolidation and stocking of materials and managing relationships with transportation and warehousing providers. You will determine the most cost-effective methods of transportation and ensure that we are adhering to appropriate rules, regulations and laws governing the movement and storage of goods. You will be a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, providing information and intelligence in support of our business objectives.

What

will you be doing?
  • Plan, coordinate and arrange all inbound and outbound logistics from suppliers/sub-contractors supporting customer delivery schedules.
  • Effectively manage relationships with logistics & warehouse service providers to ensure efficient flow of materials and optimum performance.
  • Coordinate issuing of delivery schedule priorities and update MRP system.
  • Work with service providers to ensure all shipping documentation is prepared promptly to support planned deliveries and comply with all relevant legislation.
  • Resolve any invoice discrepancies and support day to day problem solving.
  • Continually strive to seek opportunities to improve our logistics management processes and performance.
  • Maintain safe working practises for self and others in accordance with the Company’s policy on Health and Safety
To have success in this role you will be:
  • Confident in coordinating and prioritising daily activities and urgent requests with relevant colleagues in order to find a satisfactory solution.
  • Be experienced in providing exceptional internal and external customer service. Have experience in direct handling of inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Logistics management related experience would be considered advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/WMS/SAP advantageous.
