Ensuring hospital equipment including mattresses, pressure relieving mattresses, slings and general clothes washing is in a clean and safe condition.

The department’s overall objective is to provide the service users with quality cleaned and decontaminated items, in a timely and efficient manner, as required for the effective treatment of patients.

To provide a high-quality decontamination service of devices to wards and departments across the hospital in a timely manner

• Knowledge of decontamination procedures

• Experience of working in similar environment

• Knowledge of layout of Hospital

• Able to follow policy and procedure

• Good hand to eye co-ordination
• Able to work while standing for prolonged periods
