Supporting Young People Aged 16–25 with PMLD, Complex Needs & SEMH

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in a unique farm-based and outdoor learning environment
, supporting young people aged 16–25 with PMLD, complex needs and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
.
This role is ideal for someone who believes learning goes beyond the classroom and thrives through sensory experiences, practical activities and meaningful relationships
.
You will support learners through alternative and personalised learning pathways
, using the farm and outdoor environment to promote engagement, wellbeing, independence and communication.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting learners with individual learning and sensory needs
- Delivering and assisting outdoor, practical and farm-based activities
- Creating a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and wellbeing
- Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person‑centred education
- Assisting with personal care where required, always promoting dignity and choice
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, empathetic and resilient
- Passionate about inclusive and alternative education
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexible and creative in adapting learning activities
- Committed to supporting young people with complex needs
- Experience in SEN, care, education, youth work or outdoor learning is desirable, but full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
