Position: Engineering Projects Lead (Bespoke Machinery)
Engineering Projects Lead (Bespoke Machinery)

An established engineering business specialising in custom machine builds is expanding its project team and is looking for an experienced engineering-led Project Manager to take ownership of complex, made-to-order projects.

This is a hands-on, technically focused role where you'll manage projects from confirmed order through to final delivery, working closely with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers.

The Role

You'll be responsible for ensuring bespoke engineering projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. This is not a purely administrative PM role, technical understanding and practical problem-solving are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing engineering projects from order acceptance through to completion
  • Creating and maintaining project plans, schedules, and resource requirements
  • Coordinating procurement, suppliers, and logistics
  • Acting as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Working closely with internal engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Managing risk assessments, compliance, and project documentation
  • Monitoring budgets, timelines, and quality standards
About You

You'll be an engineering professional who enjoys taking ownership and seeing projects through to completion.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
  • Formal project management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, or similar)
  • Proven experience delivering projects within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong planning, communication, and coordination skills
  • A proactive, detail-driven approach with the confidence to make decisions
  • Experience using project planning or scheduling tools (e.g. MS Project, Monday)
Why Apply?
  • Work on bespoke, technically interesting projects
  • Play a key role in a growing and stable engineering business
  • Real ownership and visibility across projects
  • A role where engineering knowledge genuinely matters

If you're looking for a technically engaging project role where you can make a real impact, we'd like to hear from you.
