Overview

Lytchett Minster School is looking for colleagues who are passionate about supporting teaching and who will relish the prospect of making a positive difference in the lives of young people. This post represents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to share in the work of our thriving Student Support Centre and to work with a friendly and supportive team housed in excellent modern facilities.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has a talent for engaging students and you will be required to work flexibly across all age groups and abilities.

This role complements the professional work of teachers by providing support in-class and small group support to students. There will be opportunities to develop within the team and make a valued contribution to students’ learning. An interest in Science would be a significant advantage. The working hours for this post are 8.35am – 3.15pm, Monday to Friday, on a fixed term 1-year contract to start after the Easter break.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class support to students and small group support as part of the teaching team.
  • Engage students across all age groups and abilities with flexibility in role and duties.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff within the Student Support Centre.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the team and to students’ learning outcomes.
Qualifications and preferences

An interest in Science would be a significant advantage. The role requires the ability to engage students and to work flexibly across all age groups and abilities.

The school is massively over-subscribed and highly regarded in the community.
