Teaching Assistant

Overview

We are recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support students aged 10-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
. This is a full-time position with an immediate start
, working 8.30am to 4pm
, Monday to Friday. You will be working within a highly regarded specialist education setting located in a beautiful harbour side area. The school is recognised for:

Students present with a range of SEMH needs, which may include: anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties, challenging behaviour linked to trauma or adverse experiences, low self-esteem and difficulties engaging with learning and additional needs such as ADHD or communication challenges.

• Provide 1:1 tailored support to help students access learning
• Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils0>
• Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff

• Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN
• Experience with SEMH or behavioural needs is highly desirable
• A calm, patient and resilient attitude
• Passion for supporting young people who need consistency and understanding
