Accounting Manager, Tax Accountant
Our client is a new but fast-growing accountancy practice based in Poole, Dorset.
They operate nationwide providing accounting services to clients the length and breadth of the UK using technology to deliver that service.
They provide fixed fee accounting solutions to owner managed businesses, contractors/freelancers and sole traders, purposefully specialising in smaller businesses where we can really make a difference.

Job OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced and client-focused Accountant to join the team as a Portfolio Manager.
This role involves managing a portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive accounting and advisory services, and ensuring the highest standards of client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in client relationship management. You will report directly to the directors who will support and mentor you.
Key Responsibilities- Managing and servicing a portfolio of clients to an excellent standard
- Handling inbound queries from clients, and delivering great client service
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Providing advice and support to clients in relation to corporate and personal tax planning.
- Reviewing accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns prepared by junior members of staff.
- Reviewing client records
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Identify opportunities for business development and actively contribute to the growth of the firm.
- Delivering the firm's vision of how accountancy service should be.
- At least three years’ experience within an accounting firm, or similar
- Qualified AAT or ACCA/ACA or demonstrable equivalent experience. (candidates in late-stage studies will also be considered)
- Knowledge of UK tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience in managing client portfolios and providing advisory services.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Commercially aware and able to understand the business impact of your role and actions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with cloud accounting software - Xero and Free Agent
- Experience in working with freelancers/contractors, sole traders and SMEs is also advantageous.
