Associate Clinical Director - Public Health (NWJCC)
Following the establishment of the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC) on 1st April 2024 and a recent organisational restructure, we are seeking an Associate Clinical Director - Public Health, Joint Commissioning Committee (JCC) to support our journey as a newly formed organisation.
The NWJCC is a joint committee of the seven health boards in Wales, with a Chair and Lay Members. We support collaborative commissioning across Wales, with around 120 staff based in Mold and Nantgarw/Treforest.
Our mission to be The Centre of Excellence for Collaborative Commissioning, improving health and care outcomes across Wales. We commission around 220 services, from NHS 111 and ambulance services to specialised rare disease services, and mental health, operating a £1.14bn budget.
In this role, you will join a supportive, inclusive team, working with NHS Wales, Welsh Government, and UK provider organisations. Main duties of the jobThe post holder may work in any area of professional public health practice, as required at the time. They will provide expert public health support and advice across a range of areas that will include:
- Health Improvement.
- Health Care Quality and Improvement.
- Health Protection.
- Research and Development.
- Contribute to population health advice to the pan Wales Local Authorities.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of partner organisations, including the Public Services Board(s).

Person Specification Qualifications and Knowledge- MFPH by examination, by exemption or by assessment
- Inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists
- If included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List in a specialty other than public health medicine/dental public health, candidates must have equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health medicine practice
