Literacy Support Assistant Level 3

Responsibilities

• Is committed to improving pupils' literacy skills and supporting learners to make strong progress.
• Can work effectively with individuals and small groups of pupils, both inside and outside of the classroom.
• Builds positive, supportive and respectful relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations.
• Can support the delivery of structured literacy interventions and learning activities under the direction of teaching staff.
• Is organised, communicates clearly and works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Is committed to inclusion and ensuring that all learners have equal opportunities to succeed.
• Is enthusiastic about professional development and developing their skills in supporting literacy across the curriculum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Mountain Ash Comprehensive School as a Literacy Support Assistant (Level
3). We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and values-driven individual who is passionate about supporting young people to develop their literacy and reading skills.

Working under the guidance of the Director of Learning (English) and the Whole School Literacy Lead, the successful candidate will support pupils through targeted literacy interventions and classroom support, helping learners build confidence, independence and a love of reading.
