A well-established law firm with a strong South Wales presence is seeking an experienced Public / Administrative Law Solicitor to lead its Public Law team.
This is a senior role suited to a solicitor who wants to work on high-quality public law matters without stepping away from the region, combining technical excellence with leadership responsibility.The RoleThe Public Law team undertakes a wide range of public and administrative law work across Wales and England, acting for both individuals and organisations. Matters include:
- Education
- Social care
- Public service change and closure
- Inquests and public inquiries
- Judicial review proceedings, including matters before the High Court
- You'll have genuine input into the strategic direction of the department, while remaining closely involved in complex casework.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a specialist Public Law team based in South Wales
- Manage complex public law and judicial review matters
- Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency and Lexcel requirements
- Support business development, profile-raising, and sustainable growth
- Maintain consistently high standards of client care
- Extensive experience in public law, including judicial review
- Strong working knowledge of legal aid funding
- Leadership or supervisory experience, or clear readiness to step into a senior role
- Excellent communication skills and sound professional judgement
- An interest in building a long-term role within a regional practice
