As a Pipe Welder, you will be responsible for welding and assembling piping systems according to customer specifications and applicable codes, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. You will weld carbon and stainless-steel pipes using stick and TIG methods. Assist in tasks such as measuring, cutting, and bending pipes. Installing valves, supports, and repairing leaks.
Your role includes setting up and operating welding equipment, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring accurate job layouts. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial and industrial pipe welding, you must have a strong understanding of piping systems and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and scopes of work. Safety is paramount, and you will follow all protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Weld pipe in accordance with customer needs and specifications
- Measure, cut, and bend various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angle/length using pipe cutters and benders
- Copper Brazing and soldering
- Threading and assembling pipe
- Prepare, fabricate, fit, weld and install pipe to specifications
- Install valves, hangers, supports and flanges in piping systems according to plans and applicable specifications
- Repair leaks in all types of pipe systems
- Assemble, install and repair piping systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes
- Setup, adjust, and operate welding equipment
- Able to position weld in field and in shop atmosphere
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial pipe welding
- Carbon steel stick 6G
- Carbon steel TIG 6G
- Stainless steel TIG 6G
- Assist in selecting pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, or hangers according to specifications
- Cut or bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, or mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand or power tools
- Assisting with the installation of piping systems
- Has basic brazing, and soldering experience
- Assist with job layout
- Working knowledge of all types of piping systems
- Must have the ability to read and interpret a written scope of work
- Perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools
- Must be able to identify basic trade materials by size, shape and function and safely use power tools and hand tools

- Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials
- Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings
- Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines
- Identifies common load configurations & positioning
- Rigger 1 training - trains on above
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height
- Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Must be able to work in cold/hot environments
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain
