Trinity Health Oakland is a 497-bed community teaching hospital, level II trauma center and longtime leader in health care in Oakland County. We provide comprehensive care including cardiovascular, stroke, orthopedics, obstetrics, gynecology and cancer care. Full-Time position scheduled 36 hours per week - 12-hour shifts, with a weekend rotation and holiday commitment. 5 South is a 36-bed unit that provides care for patients with Oncology, Hospice, Anemia, Hematology, Comfort Care, Palliative Care, Radiation or Nuclear Treatment, Chemotherapy administration (AML, CML, leukemia patients) and sickle cell.

Summary

The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment. Assumes a leadership role in providing professional nursing care to patients within Trinity Oakland Hospital.

Responsibilities include coordination, implementation and evaluation of the continuum plan of care in collaboration with other members of the multi-disciplinary team; actively supports and participates in Shared Governance; and promotes the organizational commitment to customer service.

Requirements
  • Education:

    Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Licensure / Certification:
    Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
  • Certifications:

    ACLS, BCLS, ENCP, PALS, Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRC) or as specified for role; required for RN Care Managers in designated areas.
  • Experience:

    Minimum two years' work experience as an RN on a medical/surgical unit or in an ICU/CCU, depending on pool assignment.
Special Skills / Aptitudes
  • Excellent customer service orientation to interact with hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups.
  • Strong clinical skills with minimum two years' experience as noted above.
