Welder Fabricator

Job Description

Tradesmen International is hiring Welding Fabricators for commercial and Industrial projects in the Pontiac, MI area.

A Welder Fabricator is responsible for cutting, fitting, and welding metal components to fabricate structural and mechanical assemblies according to blueprints and specifications. This role requires precision, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols
• Measure, cut, grind, and prepare metal using hand and power tools
• Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Fit and assemble parts using clamps, fixtures, and jigs
• Fabricate structural components, frames, platforms, handrails, and piping supports
• Inspect welds to ensure quality, strength, and compliance with specifications
• Repair and modify existing metal structures as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other trades

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a welding or fabrication apprenticeship or technical program preferred
• Proven experience as a welder/fabricator in industrial, structural, or manufacturing settings
• Proficiency with welding processes (MIG/TIG/Stick)
• Ability to pass welding tests or certifications (AWS preferred)
• Strong knowledge of metal properties and fabrication techniques
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments
• Manufacturing shops, fabrication facilities, or construction sites
• May require standing for long periods, heavy lifting, and working in varying conditions
