Great Lakes Academy is hiring a part-time evening Custodian to join the team.

Great Lakes Academy is a K - 8th grade public charter school located in Pontiac. The academy has been serving the community for more than 20 years. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented part-time Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout our facility. This role is essential for creating a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and students.

Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

$15-$20 per hour, based on experience.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas regularly.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with recycling guidelines.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of facilities for events, meetings, and special occasions.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Report maintenance issues and damages to the supervisor promptly.
• Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning materials and supplies.

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
