TheOpportunity
The SharePoint Administrator is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s M365 SharePoint online environment. This role involves administering SharePoint solutions, ensuring optimal performance, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver business‑critical solutions. The SharePoint Administrator will also lead governance, security, and compliance efforts while driving innovation and adoption of SharePoint technologies across the organization.
Essential Job Functions- Oversee the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of SharePoint Online environment
- Works cross‑functionally with internal/external IT partners to implement and manage collaboration systems to meet the overall company objectives
- Works closely with IT engineers and architects throughout the global technology environment
- Leads the development of long‑term strategic goals for collaboration solutions, software, and data integrations
- Functions as a technical lead on projects by developing an understanding of existing systems and processes as well as identifying/determining future needs
- Establish and enforce SharePoint governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Works closely with the IT Information Security team, prioritizing safety of the company’s people, systems, and content
- Responds to support escalations and investigate, analyze, document, and provide root cause resolution to reported incidents
- Ensures all team, departmental and company policies and procedures are adhered to, including technical change management and service continuity
- Completes all administrative tasks, i.e., (time tracking, project and task updates, trouble ticket notes, status reports, responding to email, etc.) accurately and on time
- Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet company goals and objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience is related to the functions of the role
- Microsoft 365 certified – Azure Solutions Architect Expert, is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of enterprise level SharePoint Online & .Net Solution Architecture
- Prior Experience deploying and managing SharePoint Online solutions in Azure Dev Ops
- Proven experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint Development Framework (SPFx)
- In‑depth knowledge of Azure AD, Microsoft One Drive, M365 Suite, M365 security and compliance including MS Purview is required
- Knowledge of Power Shell including scripting, MS Power Platform, RESTful services and APIs is helpful
- A solid understanding of delivery frameworks such as Agile and Dev Ops
- Demonstrates leadership initiative even without formal reporting lines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the company
- Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
