Key Responsibilities
- Teach high school science courses (e.g. Physics and Chemistry) according to curriculum standards.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and hands-on learning.
- Integrate Catholic values and ethical perspectives where appropriate within the curriculum.
- Assess student progress through assignments, labs, projects, and exams.
- Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in school activities, faculty meetings, professional development, and the spiritual life of the school community.
- Bachelor's degree in Science Education
- Valid state teaching certification DE (Physics) or DX, DP, DI, DC (Chem) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of high school science curriculum and laboratory safety practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the AP high school level.
- Ability to teach multiple science disciplines.
- Familiarity with inquiry-based and project-based learning methods.
- Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required; all applicants must support the Catholic mission of the school.
