Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology in Pontiac, MI

Are you a dedicated Hematology-Oncology physician seeking an impactful temporary role? McLaren Oakland invites compassionate and skilled medical professionals to provide vital outpatient clinic coverage during a recruitment gap. In this role, you'll deliver outpatient hematology and oncology services, manage clinic call responsibilities as needed, and participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings. The position ensures excellent continuity of care for approximately 15-20 patients daily in a well-equipped clinic setting featuring an infusion center, onsite CBCs, and a dedicated support staff including oncology nurses, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, and nurse navigators.

You will operate within the Cerner EMR system, coordinate with a team experienced in outpatient cancer treatment, and contribute to ongoing patient management and tumor board discussions. Required Skills:

• Board-certified or eligible in Hematology and Oncology
• Proven experience in outpatient hematology and oncology care
• Proficiency in tumor board participation
• Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR system

Nice to Have

Skills:

• Previous experience in infusion center procedures
• Ability to manage complex cases
• Membership in professional oncology organizations
• BLS and ACLS certifications

Preferred

Education and Experience:

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Fellowship training in Hematology-Oncology
• At least 2 years of outpatient clinical experience in hematology-oncology

Other Requirements:

• Coverage from January 19, 2026, to July 31, 2026
• Availability for clinic coverage on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• On-call duties limited to clinic call as needed
• Valid medical license and DEA registration for Michigan
• Must comply with all institutional and state/federal regulations
• Ability to travel locally; mileage and related expenses reimbursed up to $150 per trip (rental refueling required). No lodging reimbursements through third-party sites;
  McLaren is tax-exempt and will not reimburse lodging taxes.
