Join a Leading Hematology-Oncology Practice as a Locum Physician in Pontiac, MI

This role offers flexibility, professional growth, and the chance to work with a dedicated, multidisciplinary team supporting outpatient oncological and hematological services. Help bridge staffing gaps while providing exceptional care in a robust clinical environment.

Required Skills:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with active license in Michigan
  • Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
  • Proven experience in outpatient hematology and oncology care
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR system
  • Ability to manage 15-20 outpatient patients daily
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to participate actively in tumor board meetings
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Prior experience with infusion centers
  • Familiarity with tumor board participation
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary support teams including nurses, social workers, and dietitians
  • Knowledge of state and federal guidelines related to oncology care
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-residency experience in hematology/oncology outpatient settings
  • Previous locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous but not required
Other Requirements:
  • Coverage for outpatient clinic and clinic call from January 19, 2026, through July 31, 2026
  • On-site support includes infusion services, CBC testing, and multidisciplinary team assistance
  • On-call duties as needed; approximately 15-20 patients per day
  • Onsite support staff includes oncology RNs, medical assistants, social workers, dietitians, and nurse navigators
  • Must have or obtain Michigan medical license and all relevant certifications
  • Mileage, car rental (refueled), and hotel accommodations reimbursed up to a $150 cap (including taxes)
  • Orientation hours compensated at half of the hourly rate
  • No third-party lodging bookings or taxes reimbursed
